Working in photography has given me the opportunity be a witness to so many amazing journeys! This job isn't just about a camera and a photo. It's about stories. My camera and I simply document a piece of an adventure, but I get to learn so much more from my clients in the process.
As you know, I'm a Mom to a bunch of crazy cool kids and doggos. You also know that I'm a business owner. ....And, you might know that I am a nine to fiver as a sales coordinator and marketing manager for a heavy equipment dealership. All my life, I have been a dream chaser so I consider myself pretty well versed on recognizing ambition and leadership characteristics - which leads me to my fellow Mom-preneurs. These are the ladies in your life that you probably don't see struggle because A. "they're fine." and B. they are as tough as nails and, mostly, not going to let you. These are the women who kiss boo-boos, clean up poo-poos, wipe noses, run errands, pack lunches, cook dinners, plan birthday parties, tell the best bedtime stories and give the best pep talks accompanied by hugs that somehow make everything seem okay. These are also the women whose passion goes far beyond what they can take care of at home. They have an inherent need to give themselves to those they love and those around them that can benefit by what they have to offer. They are smart, savvy, talented, strong. They look a challenge scare in the eye and say "game on". They don't give up, rather, learn and become better. They are the unicorns. There's always a story behind that Mom-preneur that is deeper than "I just felt like it". The fire in them started with a small spark at some point that caught flame and couldn't be smothered. For some, simply a realization that they needed more to feel fulfilled or that they needed to show their kids that a person can truly become anything they set out to become. For others, life knocked them down and they decided they weren't fit for staying there. It's an honor for me to be able to help a fellow woman in business create and follow her dream. I have witnessed clients build themselves back after cancer, recreate themselves after divorce, meet special needs of their families head on, foster relationships after feeling completely broken. I have had the privilege of watching some women not only survive heartache and physical challenges, but rise from the ashes stronger and more capable than they may have been. So, for all of you Mom-preneurs out there.... the ones I know and the ones I've never met.... this is my shout out to you.... You should know that.... You are amazing. You are strong, bold, beautiful and insanely ambitious! ... Mommin' while pursuing your passions is a juggle. There are days that we feel on top of the world, like we have mastered our trade AND our household. There are days when we feel like we're failing and falling all over the place! ... The struggle is REAL! I see you. You got this! Keep building up that family & that dream! I would love to work with more Mom-Bosses out there so if you are one, or you know one, get in touch so we can photograph and feature you! (Here are just a few of my Mom-boss clients that are kicking ass and taking names!)

Last year with the onset of Covid 19 we took to the streets of local neighborhoods in what we called our #SpreadLoveNotGerms Porch-rait Project! We had a blast visiting families for a quick photo that depicted life during this strange time of isolation and PPE.
There was no fee to participate and upon completion of the Photo Tour, families had an opportunity to view and purchase any of the images produced. The project proved to be heartwarming for all of us having provided a moment for families to get out of their daily jammies and take advantage of the fact that everyone was in the same place at the same time! A feat so many struggle to arrange with family portraits under normal circumstances. A Word from the Project Launch: "During these challenging times, we are all trying to find a balance. My local #SpreadLoveNotGerms Porchrait Project started with an inspiration from fellow photographers finding ways to share smiles with the world despite various trying situations. I wanted to be a part of putting something good and happy back into the world and families from many neighborhoods have jumped at the chance to participate! The experience has been so heartwarming! Thank you to all of the participating families! Your smiles are creating more smiles throughout the community!" Check out all of our awesome participants here!
Covid-19 has affected families and communities in many ways. Organizations like the American Legion Auxiliary have not been able to conduct normal fundraising efforts that they rely upon to fulfill their mission of helping veterans. In this American Hearts Porchrait Photo Tour we unite as a community to make a positive impact while paying tribute to our country's military and their families who have sacrificed to protect our freedom.
